Hey y’all…happy Thursday!🤓
Throwback Thursday is a meme where I can share some oldies but goodies…books that are older than a year and have been sitting on my Goodreads TBR for awhile or books that I’ve read & enjoyed, often from my READ AGAIN E-SHELF. I’ve seen this meme floating around for awhile now so I finally decided to jump on board. Thanks to Renee @ It’s Book Talk who started this meme…if you get a chance, go check out her blog!💜
Scandalous (Sinners of Saint #3) by L.J. Shen
Published September 21st 2017
They call him The Mute for a reason.
Hard, cold and calculated, he rarely speaks.
When he does, it’s with disdain.
When he does, his words aren’t meant for me.
When he does, my stomach flips and my world tilts on its axis.
He is thirty-three.
I am eighteen.
He’s a single dad and my father’s business partner.
I’m just a kid to him and his enemy’s daughter.
He’s emotionally unavailable.
And I am…feeling. Feeling things I shouldn’t feel for him.
Trent Rexroth is going to break my heart. The writing isn’t just on the wall, it’s inked on my soul.
And yet, I can’t stay away.
A scandal is the last thing my family needs. But a scandal is what we’re going to give them.
And oh, what beautiful chaos it will be
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
SCANDALOUS is book three in the Sinners of Saint series and is an enemies to lovers/older man, younger woman/bad boy/office/erotic romance. It does have interconnected characters but can be read as a standalone. Holy Hotness, Batman!! Where do I even begin?? Should I start with the scrumptious characters or the witty banter? The beloved secondary characters, the insanely hot chemistry or the twisted plot? There’s so much happening in this story but L.J. Shen (genius) crafted such a well written book, I didn’t even feel the pages flying by, was never confused or bored and in fact, was sad when I reached the epilogue because I didn’t want it to end! I loved Trent and Edie. I loved Trent’s cocky attitude, his confidence and his possesiveness. I loved how much he adored his daughter, Luna, even though he had no clue how to be a parent and I loved how loyal he was to his friends and family. I loved how Trent and Edie drove each other crazy because their personalities were so compatible despite the age gap between them. Every edgy part and twisted piece of this book fit so perfectly! This is a definite MUST for my READ AGAIN E-SHELF. Told from dual POVs with a sweet and sexy ending. I received, read and voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I loved this series so much, but I just can’t with the second generation 😭

Someday!! sometimes you just have to wait for the right time. I’ve had enough books that I waited on until I felt it was the right time – and it was 😀
