A Royal Mistake by Piper Rayne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
A Royal Mistake is book 2 in The Rooftop Crew but can be read as a standalone. This one is a fun cross between a modern fairytale and a romantic comedy with a splash of drama!
Prince Adrian Marx is in Manhattan to fulfill a “win-a-date” publicity stunt when all he really wants to do is party until he’s forced to return home, become king and marry a woman he doesn’t know and doesn’t want. But when he meets his gorgeous date, Sierra, he decides to shun his responsibilities and be “normal” for a few weeks. Sierra’s always been infatuated with the Prince but will she like him without all the glam of royalty?
Sierra was first introduced in book one and I’ll be honest, I didn’t really dig her character. She seemed selfish and self involved. But I’m glad to say that Piper Rayne did a fabulous job of making Sierra a more lovable and REAL person. She wasn’t perfect by any means but now I know why she initially seemed so cold and I absolutely adored the transformation of her character. It was actually super emotional for me (yup, I cried!) but I also found plenty to smile about and swoon over. I mean…imagine a hot, rich Prince becoming your roomie for two months?? Excuse me while I fan myself!
I fell in love with Adrian and his fight to be his own person but I gotta say that Sierra surprisingly stole the show for me. A solid 5 star read! Told from dual POVs with a delightfully sweet ending. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.
