Hey y’all…happy Thursday!😍
Throwback Thursday is a meme where I can share some oldies but goodies…books that are older than a year and have been sitting on my Goodreads TBR for awhile or books that I’ve read & enjoyed, often from my READ AGAIN E-SHELF. I’ve seen this meme floating around for awhile now so I finally decided to jump on board. Thanks to Renee @ It’s Book Talk who started this meme…if you get a chance, go check out her blog!💖
Wild Card (North Ridge #1) by Karina Halle
What would you give up to have a second-chance at a once-in-a-lifetime love?
Wild Card is a STANDALONE SECOND-CHANCE ROMANCE from the NYT bestselling author of The Pact and Before I Ever Met You.
Rough, raw & rugged.
As the man in charge at Ravenswood Ranch, Shane Nelson has never been afraid to get his hands dirty. His sculpted physique isn’t the product of a gym, but of years of hard labor under a relentless sun. His straightforward, alpha tendencies come from a man who knows what he wants and goes after it.
And what he wants is Rachel Waters.
He’s never stopped wanting her.
They were childhood best friends, then teenage lovers who evolved into soulmates. But on one fateful night, Shane made a grave mistake, breaking both their hearts in the process.
Now, after six years, Rachel is back in the small, wild mountain town of North Ridge, BC.
Ready to face her past.
Ready to face Shane.
Ready to face his dark secret.
But is a second-chance at a one true love in the cards? Or will their wild hearts be broken once again?
WILD CARD is a complete standalone novel and the first book about the Nelson brothers of North Ridge

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
It’s been awhile since I’ve read anything by Karina Halle and I have to ask…WHY?? Ms. Halle delivered a vivid, smart and bold second chance romance that was perfectly balanced between the past and the present. I loved so many things about this book! The Canadian landscape and the Nelson ranch was written in rich and colorful details, I was able to imagine it all so well. But more, I loved the vibrant characters. Shane was SWOON worthy; both possessive, brave, alpha and sweet, comforting, loving. Rachel was a warrior! She had a lot to overcome and although she was vulnerable and scared at times, she was still strong enough to understand what she had in Shane and had the moxie to open her heart to love and hope. I really admired that trait! Shane and Rachel were simply adorable together and I found myself rooting for them from the very beginning. This story is emotionally charged, extremely meaningful, scintillating and passionate. Overall, another 5 STAR read for me! Told from dual POVs with a sweet, sweet, sweet ending. I received, read and voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Karina Halle is a hit or miss for me Trisy! Either I loathe either I love!
