Hey y’all…happy Friday, day #5 (?) of “quarantine!” (Longer for some of you, I know!)😝

FRIDAY FAVES is a little meme where I can post about some of my favorite book related topics, including various tropes, awesome heroes, bad boys and bookish stuff! Remember, all the books featured on Friday Faves are books that I have read and adored unless specifically noted!

Today’s topic:

March is NATIONAL WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH! This celebration of women began in the late 70’s and each year there’s a new theme. 2020’s theme is “Valiant Women of the Vote.” As a savvy woman myself (wink wink), I thought it would be fab to present some of the most bad ass heroines in romance! Now, I’ll apologize in advance y’all, because I tried to spread the love and showcase different authors but it turns out…my unicorn authors ARE my favorite BECAUSE they write about strong women and gee, I couldn’t just leave out some of these remarkable stories! But I promise to throw in some amazing books!!💜

So what makes a “strong” woman? Well, she may not have a loud political voice, may not be an innovator or be the smartest or the most honest person. In fact, I tend to favor the wall flowers who go through hell to discover their own worth, the ladies who maybe feel like the underdog or the woman who stands behind her man but who really knows that she’s the one quietly holding that man up.

OK…Here’s The line up:

  1. Women With Weapons (March 6)

  2. Witches, She-Wolves & Vamps…Oh My! (March  20)

  3. Old Ladies and Biker Chicks (March 27)

  4. The Smart and The Sassy (April 3)

Blaze Knight has been through hell and back, but the nightmares aren’t over yet.

Five years after being maimed and tortured by vampires, Blaze is still picking up the pieces of his shattered life. As a genetically engineered hybrid mercenary, his mission is to protect what’s left of humanity. When his tormentors return to the Bronx gunning for Blaze’s blood, he’s forced to face the demons of his past. Hell-bent on revenge, he seeks the help of Valerie Medeiros, an NYPD detective who manages to steal his heart and save his life in more ways than one.

Motivated by her sister’s gruesome death, Valerie’s life goal is to bury every vampire in the ground where they belong. She has a hard time trusting anything with fangs, yet she falls headlong into Blaze’s life, a life full of darkness and horror she can’t even begin to fathom. The bodies are stacking up, but Valerie can’t let go of this hybrid, a beautiful monster filled with pain, rage, and passion unlike anything she’s ever known.

In a world where the line between good and evil is blurred, Blaze and Valerie will find danger at every turn, risking everything they’ve come to know and love, including one another.

The Gathering (Ivy Blackwood Chronicles #1) by L.A. Fiore

Words like unnatural and impure started the whispers.

From the very beginning, Ivy Blackwood was different. She was only a child when she was accused of setting the fire, one she passively watched engulf the small house she had called home. Her fingertips burned and her hair singed. Some who watched her crossed themselves, convinced she was soulless for she showed no emotion at all. Calm and dispassionate, even when the screaming started that quickly turned to bellows of agony before dying into nothing but the roaring of the fire.

She was locked away where she couldn’t bring harm to herself or others. To all involved, they had protected the world from a monster, but sometimes things are not what they seem.

Due to language and adult situations, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

Blood Kiss (Black Dagger Legacy #1) by J.R. Ward

The legacy of the Black Dagger Brotherhood continues in a spin-off series from the #1 New York Times bestselling author…

Paradise, blooded daughter of the king’s First Advisor, is ready to break free from the restrictive life of an aristocratic female. Her strategy? Join the Black Dagger Brotherhood’s training center program and learn to fight for herself, think for herself…be herself. It’s a good plan, until everything goes wrong. The schooling is unfathomably difficult, the other recruits feel more like enemies than allies, and it’s very clear that the Brother in charge, Butch O’Neal, a.k.a. the Dhestroyer, is having serious problems in his own life.

And that’s before she falls in love with a fellow classmate. Craeg, a common civilian, is nothing her father would ever want for her, but everything she could ask for in a male. As an act of violence threatens to tear apart the entire program, and the erotic pull between them grows irresistible, Paradise is tested in ways she never anticipated—and left wondering whether she’s strong enough to claim her own power…on the field, and off.

Shades of Wicked CR: Avon

Shades of Wicked (Night Rebel #1) by Jeaniene Frost

In this thrilling new Night Rebel series set in New York Times bestselling author Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress world, sexy and ruthless vampire Ian finally meets his match!

The Rule Breaker

Master vampire Ian is unrepentant, shameless…and every shade of wicked. He’s made one too many enemies in his two centuries of existence, including Dagon, a demon who now lays claim to his soul. Ian’s only chance to escape Dagon is to join forces with a Law Guardian, but he’s never been able to abide by the rules for long.

The Law Maker

Veritas’ normal role is police, judge and jury to reprobates like Ian. But she has her own ax to grind with Dagon, so if she can use Ian as bait…well, all’s fair in law and war. As they scour supernatural hotspots to perfect their trap, Veritas soon realizes Ian’s devil-may-care, roguish image hides something much more powerful. And Ian discovers that Veritas has shocking secrets of her own. As they’re drawn to each other with a passion as intense as their peril, either love or justice will prevail. But each will have devastating consequences…

Destiny Disgraced (Talon Pack #6) by Carrie Ann Ryan

The Talon Pack continues with a new twist to the Packs and a revelation no one was prepared for.

Mitchell Brentwood is aware that others think he’s the harsh taskmaster Beta trying to keep his Pack alive, but they only see what he wants them to know. He’d once thought he had his path laid out before him, but when his future was violently ripped away, he vowed he’d never let anyone close again—especially not a young wolf from a traitorous Pack.

Dawn Levin may be younger than the war that destroyed her people, but she knows she must still pay for their sins. She’s ready to find her way in this new world where wolves and humans blend as one, but first, she needs to fight her attraction to the dark wolf that stands in her way.

While the two struggle with their feelings and burning attraction for each other, they can’t ignore the world that shakes beneath their feet. There is a new enemy on the horizon, one with revenge and the unknown on their minds. An adversary that might be closer than they realize.
