Royce by USA TODAY bestselling author Kat Mizera is available now!
Just because opposites attract, doesn’t mean they belong together…
Professional hockey player Royce Lenahan is no stranger to chaos. He grew up surrounded by it, so as an adult he likes things nice and orderly: His apartment, his hockey schedule, even his dates. When his best friend and teammate asks him to take his visiting sister to a rock concert, he isn’t expecting the sultry, leather-clad vixen that has his jaw dropping.
Force of nature Kristina Papadakis feels like two separate people sometimes: The demure, proper Greek girl she was raised to be, and the badass rock musician she could be. She’s never had a problem keeping her worlds apart until her brother’s straight-laced but oh-so-hot teammate stumbles into both of them, creating a collision she wasn’t looking for.
As Royce and Tina explore an unexpected but undeniable passion, they soon discover that love isn’t always enough. Opposites might attract, but they’ll have to learn to compromise if they want to last. Royce has to be willing to give up control long enough to tame Tina’s gypsy soul, before she wanders away for good.

Las Vegas Sidewinders: Royce by Kat Mizera
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
ROYCE is book 10 in the Las Vegas Sidewinders series. There’s several connected characters but this is easily a book that can be read as a standalone.
Royce Lenahan is a six year veteran of the Sidewinders hockey team. He’s worked really hard to build his dream, regardless of his less than normal childhood. When his best friend, Dmitri, asks him to take his baby sister to a rock concert, Royce is completely unprepared for the whirlwind that is Kristina “Tina” Papadakis.
So, this is one of those rare instances where I loved the heroine more than the hero. Tina was a bohemian blast of fun! She was creative, talented, loyal, unafraid and uninhibited. She had a huge amount of ambition and I admired her spirit and her strength. But she was the absolute opposite of Royce. It wasn’t that Tina was lacking complete structure or was a big partier or anything like that. Truly, her only crime was being artistic and maybe a bit laid back. Royce, however, craved control in ALL aspects of his life. Which is fine to a certain extent until he tries to mesh his life with Tina. I found Royce to be rigid, inflexible about a lot although there were times when he seemed to let go and really live, mostly when he was around Tina. But when their chemistry boiled over and became undeniable? He was an alpha worth drooling over!
There’s a bit of the forbidden aspect in the best friend’s younger sister angle but mostly, this is an easy drama that follows two opposite people who look for happiness in each other. Four solid stars! Told from dual POVs with a delightfully sweet ending. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.
About the Author:
Kat Mizera is a South Florida native. Born in Miami Beach with a healthy dose of wanderlust, she’s called Los Angeles, Long Island, upstate New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Atlanta home. She’s never been able to pick which locale is her favorite, but if pressed, she’d probably choose the west coast.
Kat’s a typical PTA mom with a wonderful and supportive husband (Kevin) and two amazing boys (Nick and Max). When she’s not writing, she’s either scrapbooking or indulging in her second love (after writing) – traveling. Greece is one of her favorite places in the world. She loves that Athens is a big city with a small-town feel. The food, beaches and culture keep her going back as often as possible. She hopes to retire there one day so she can spend her days writing books on the beach.
Kat has been a working freelance writer for nearly 30 years. She sold her first article–a review of a rock concert–for $10 in 1985. Since then she’s been an entertainment journalist, waitress, bartender, legal assistant, food critic, magazine editor, substitute teacher, and sports writer. She also spent some time working at A & M Records in Los Angeles.
As you can guess from her series, the Las Vegas Sidewinders, Kat loves hockey. She is also a freelance hockey writer, covering her favorite team, the Florida Panthers, and any other teams that have an interesting story. The rest of the time, she writes novels: sexy, romantic fiction that she hopes makes you as happy as it makes her. There’s something enticing about hockey players and romance…

So you too love the male character better than the female character? I wonder why as we are women we should stick together….but like you in rare instances I’ve adored the heroine even more than the hero.
