AFTER CARE is a contemporary syandalone. The main characters are both over 40 so if you’re interested in the “Silver Fox” trope, this would be a good one for you!

Edie Williams is a divorced mother of two. She’s 43 and just recieved the news that her breast cancer is in remission. To celebrate, Edie takes her kids to vacation in Hawaii. There she meets the larger than life, Tommy Carrigan. Tommy is a band manager for the rock stars of Collision. Their attraction is instant but the more time they spend together, the more obvious it becomes that there’s more to Tommy than what meets the eye.

This is another one of those books that I was a little hesitant to read simply because the heroine has cancer and my husband is going through similar circumstances. But the blurb really hooked me and I’m super glad that I decided to scoop this one up! First off, kudos to Ms Dunbar for touching on how tough it is to deal with cancer without that overshadowing the romance between Tommy and Edie. It was all so well balanced! Plus, how wonderful is it to see an “older” woman, who’s divorced with two grown children, find an HEA? Edie was still sexy, strong and smart though it took a lot of encouragement from Tommy to really see her worth. And Tommy had a bunch of secrets, had problems trusting but in his own charming way, he was perfect for Edie. She managed to smooth those rough edges that he wore around his heart for so long and he showed her just how beautiful she truly was, inside and out. I loved watching these two learn how to live and love again! Yeah, I may have also shed a tear or two…

This has some easy drama, a lot of give and take between characters but it’s a sweet and sexy second chance romance that I’ll put on my READ AGAIN E-SHELF! Told from dual POVs with a happy ever after. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.
