🌹BLOGMAS: BEST BOOKS OF 2018, Day 16! My Pick For Best Romance Authors: Janine Infante Bosco and Sawyer Bennett + My Pick For Most Anticipated Book of the Year: El Pecador (Saint-Sinner #2) by M. Robinson!🌹

Hey y’all…welcome to DAY 16 of BLOGMAS: BEST BOOKS OF 2018! The very awesome and wonderful blogger, Sophie, over at Beware of the Reader is hosting this challenge where I will attempt to post about the BEST OF THE BEST in contemporary romance every day this month. Go check out her blog!!🎄

So, today’s another CHEAT DAY, sorry Sophie!😊 Today should be about the BEST FICTION AUTHORS but I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t really read fiction! So, I’ll play catch up again and go with the BEST ROMANCE AUTHORS and the MOST EXPECTED BOOK OF 2018.

GAH…such a tough category!! I’m going to go with:

Janine Infante Bosco

Sawyer Bennett

Janine Infante Bosco lives in New York City, she has always loved reading and writing. When she was thirteen, she began to write her own stories and her passion for writing took off as the years went on. At eighteen, she even wrote a full screenplay with dreams of one day becoming a member of the Screen Actors Guild.

Janine writes emotionally charged novels with an emphasis on family bonds, strong willed female characters, and alpha male men who will do anything for the women they love. She loves to interact with fans and fellow avid romance readers like herself.

She is proud of her success as an author and the friendships she’s made in the book community but her greatest accomplishment to date would be her two sons Joseph and Paul.

Riding The EdgeRiding The Edge by Janine Infante Bosco

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

RIDING THE EDGE is both a standalone and a spin-off from the Tempted series which features the Satan’s Knights MC and the Bianci family. You can read it as a standalone but I feel like you’d get more out of it if you read the entire series!

“Wolf” is basically the Godfather of the Satan’s Knights MC. He’s one of the “originals” who’s been with the MC for like thirty years. But after his son, Nico, was shot, he started to question his loyalty and his entire life in the Satan’s Knights. While he waits in the hospital for news about Nico, he finds himself turning to Maria Bianci for comfort. Maria (“Lady”) is a single mom to Anthony and Lauren (who we’ve meet in previous books) and though their grown adults with their own families, Maria is very close to them and takes pride in being a pillar of strength for her growing family. But she’s facing her own battle and now she may need to learn how to lean on someone else.

I’ll admit right off the bat that this book is my absolute favorite from Janine Infante Bosco! No spoilers, but I will say that I completely connected personally with both Wolf and Lady because of their situation and the obstacles they needed to overcome, which kind of shadows my own life right now. Yup, I cried like baby! But as with all of Ms. Bosco’s stories, there’s a simple and strong message that everyone can take away from this tale. I highlighted several awesome passages but here’s my favorite:

“I’ve learned nothing in this life comes easy and to find the beautiful we first must ride through the misery and sorrow. It’s what makes us humble at the end of our journey.”

Wolf is one of my best-loved MC characters ever (And I don’t say that lightly since I’ve read several MC books!). He was crass, bold and sometimes downright vulgar but he had a huge heart, he was loyal to a fault, the embodiment of strength and when he gave his heart away, it was entirely. Excuse me while I SWOON! Again!

If you enjoy books that are angsty and dark with hot alphas and strong women, a book that is steamy and just might make you cry but also make you feel good then scoop this one up. I’ll add this book to my READ AGAIN E-SHELF and I can’t wait for the next episode! Told from dual POVs with a happy for now ending. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

Since the release of her debut contemporary romance novel, Off Sides, in January 2013, Sawyer Bennett has released multiple books, many of which have appeared on the New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestseller lists.

A reformed trial lawyer from North Carolina, Sawyer uses real life experience to create relatable, sexy stories that appeal to a wide array of readers. From new adult to erotic contemporary romance, Sawyer writes something for just about everyone.

Sawyer likes her Bloody Marys strong, her martinis dirty, and her heroes a combination of the two. When not bringing fictional romance to life, Sawyer is a chauffeur, stylist, chef, maid, and personal assistant to a very active daughter, as well as full-time servant to her adorably naughty dogs. She believes in the good of others, and that a bad day can be cured with a great work-out, cake, or even better, both.

Sawyer also writes general and women’s fiction under the pen name S. Bennett and sweet romance under the name Juliette Poe.

Atticus: A Woman’s Journey with the World’s Worst Behaved DogAtticus: A Woman’s Journey with the World’s Worst Behaved Dog by S. Bennett

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hazel Roundtree is lost. She’s a woman who’s lost her sense of self, her confidence, her lust for life. But when she comes across a bruised and battered puppy, an amazing relationship emerges.

This is going to sound weird but this book is NOT a romance…however IT IS a love story! It’s unique (at least for me) in that the reader gets both Hazel’s point of view and also Atticus’ crazy, wonky, puppy perspective. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned after years of reading the romance genre, it’s that there are all kinds of love. This book is about finding that special bond between man (or in this case woman) and canine but also finding the love and respect for yourself. It’s about the beauty of friendship, all types of friendship and the gift that a true companion can offer…acceptance.

In complete Sawyer Bennett style, I found the story to be refreshing and funny, sad at times yet delightful and insightful. What starts out as one woman’s solo journey becomes the backdrop for a whole slew of fantastic characters! I loved, ADORED Hazel and Atticus and their spectacular odyssey. Hazel was in so much pain, not physically but spiritually, emotionally. It was just simply beautiful to watch her bloom. And of course Atticus…sweet, hilarious, wonderful Atti with his propensity for trouble. If I could, I’d give him a squeeze!

As I mentioned earlier, this one’s not your average romance but it is a fantastic love story! It’s definitely one for my READ AGAIN E-SHELF! Told from dual POVs with a happy ever after. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.

I waited on pins and needles for this next book because the first book was published in November of 2017 and the conclusion was published in January of 2018. I had to go through the holidays without knowing how the main characters get their HEA! The horror!!😵

El Pecador (Saint-Sinner #2) by M. Robinson

El Pecador (Saint-Sinner, #2)El Pecador by M. Robinson

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

EL PECADOR is book 2 in the Saint-Sinner series. It’s part of a duet and must be read AFTER El Santo!

Part 2 resumes the story that left us hanging at the end of part 1. The story spans several tormented years. The beginning is all from Damien’s POV as he struggles to live with his choices in America. But we do get to read Amira’s perspective and how she learned to survive without Damien all those years.

ICYMI: Author M. Robinson writes UGLY romance! No, I’m not talking about the actual writing. The writing itself is technically beautiful, so descriptive that I can FEEL exactly what each character is feeling. What I mean is…this isn’t a SWEET romance. This story’s about the nitty gritty, down and dirty, wild, crazy, obsessive, needy kind of love. Damien and Amira had a love so intense, you could feel it seeping into your bones and clawing at your soul.

My alarm rings at 4:30 a.m. and yet I was up until 2 a.m. finishing this book and here’s why…Damien and Amira’s story is a freaking thrill ride! From the very beginning of book 1 till the end of book 2, there’s so many ups and downs, twists and turns, so much angst riddled drama and steam filled suspense! At about 80% of the story, I was downright AGOG! (Yes, flippin’ agog!)

If you don’t enjoy dark, angsty dramas, anti-heroes who are extremely possessive or heroines that kick ass (literally) then skip this one. But if you like to read these types of books then you won’t be disappointed in Damien and Amira! This is a definite addition to my READ AGAIN E-SHELF! Told from dual POVs with a happy (but slightly crazy) ending. I received, read and voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
