A DRAGON’S TREASURE is book 3 in the Shifters of Black Isle series. Although there’s a few recurring characters, it can be read as a standalone.

Rhea has just been appointed General of the Black Isle army. She needs to lead her soldiers against the Merfolk and prove to the king that she deserves the job. The Elders have declared their only hope of winning this war is awakening the dragon, Saras, who lies in sleep deep in the bowels of the king’s castle. Will Saras help Rhea defeat the enemy?

I honestly don’t read much from this genre so I’m not 100% sure but to me, the story had a historical/fantasy feel. This one was so vibrant and spirited that in my imagination, I could see the characters walking around in medieval furs and tunics. It was a fun deviation from my usual read!

Saras was a bundle of contradictions that had me eager to read more. He was charming but also uncouth, enchanting yet frightful. Saras didn’t want to get involved with the war because of the past that imprisoned him. I loved the idea of a big, powerful dragon that wanted to be a passivist! Rhea was a physically strong leader but she was also smart and she wasn’t afraid to stand for her king and her people. I think that as weird as Saras and Rhea seemed together, they actually worked really well.

Overall, this book was a colorful, action packed read. It won’t take you long to become engrossed in this fantastical world and although this is a romance between Saras and Rhea, the Black Isle’s troubles were an intriguing background. Told from dual POVs with a happy ever after. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.
