Hey y’all! Happy Friday and damn, am I glad it’s Friday! I’ll tell you a little about my week. My hubby, Mr. A has been sick since Mother’s Day weekend but of course, multiple doctors couldn’t quite figure out why. Three visits to the emergency room later, he was admitted to the hospital at around 3 a.m. Sunday morning. He had to have a procedure that opened a duct near his liver. It’s been a trying week but he was able to come home yesterday…thank you Thor! So, unfortunately, I’ve been pretty absent from liking and commenting on posts, only scheduling my posts at night before flopping into bed. I hope to get back into the swing of things soon! Meanwhile, for today’s FRIDAY FAVES, I’ve got a few of my favorite SUMMER READS!
Now I’ll be the first to admit that I tend to read books that are considered “dark” and I also read a lot of contemporary romance. But in the summer, I like to read books that are a bit lighter. Maybe because it’s so hot outside?? The days are longer and the sun is shining?? Who knows! Regardless, here are FIVE fantastical and awesome books to read this summer.
FYI: I had such a hard time narrowing this list down!
From New York Times bestselling author Katy Regnery comes the finale to the Blueberry Lane series!
The Bohemian and the Businessman is the first of three books about the Philadelphia-based Story sisters who are all on the look-out for love.
Priscilla Story, the self-proclaimed “wild child” of the straight-laced Story clan, has always had a knack for getting herself trouble. Except this time, her “growing problem” is going to require a Daddy sooner than later…or she can kiss her inheritance good-bye.
Shane Olson, who previously dated Priscilla’s sister, Margaret, isn’t opposed to a marriage of convenience for the sake of furthering his business interests, but Priscilla – with her wild ways – is just about the last woman he’d choose to marry.
In order to make the marriage look convincing, they end up having to spend more time together than they’d originally planned. When rolling stone, Priscilla, who lives by the seat of her muu-muu, and seriously-ambitious Shane, who’s had his whole life planned since he was eleven, start falling for each other, it’s going to take a whole lot of compromise for this Bohemian and her Businessman to find their happily ever after.

He roams the U.S. alone, avoiding the glut of life in big cities, and using his innate talents to win money in underground poker games. Just enough to keep going, one town to the next. He has no hope that his life can be anything else, until he meets her…
