LOVING IRISH (Summerhaven Trio #3)
By Katy Regnery
LOVING IRISH, The Summerhaven Trio, #3
From the New York Times bestselling author of The Blueberry Lane series comes a new trio of romances featuring the Haven triplets!
Ian Haven and Halcyon Gilbert haven’t seen each other since Hallie’s 17th birthday…
…the same day Hallie pledged she would never, ever speak to Ian again as long as she lived.
Hallie Gilbert has had an especially awful year. When her husband of five years left her, Hallie’s 4-year-old daughter, Jenny, essentially stopped speaking. Add to this, Hallie had to sell her Boston apartment to pay her husband’s exorbitant credit card bills. What Hallie needs is an uncomplicated autumn at Colby Cottage, her family’s summer home in Sandwich, NH, where she and Jenny can re-group and figure out what happens next.
But Colby Cottage, located adjacent to the Summerhaven Camp, has not been well-maintained and Hallie finds it in such disrepair, it’s almost unlivable. When nearby camp owner, Rory Haven, arranges for his brother, Ian, to handle renovations for Hallie, her plans for an uncomplicated autumn suddenly get a lot more challenging.

LOVING IRISH is book 3 in The Summerhaven Trio series. It’s a standalone but does have recurring characters from the previous books.
Ten years ago, at age 17, Ian and Hallie were on the verge of happy ever after but misunderstandings tore them apart. A decade later, Ian is finally back home at Summerhaven, determined to work on his sobriety. Halcyon (Hallie) is newly divorced, and needing a fresh start, has returned to her family’s cottage in Summerhaven with her daughter, Jenny. She swore never to forgive Ian but true love is hard to resist!
As is the norm for any book by Katy Regnery, this one was utterly endearing! There’s no over the top drama or crazy plots. This is simply a romance, a second chance love story between two people who deserve a happy ending. It reads super fast and I loved getting a glimpse into Rory and Tierney’s (Ian’s brother and sister) lives from books 1 and 2.
Ian was so SWOON-y! Oh my goodness, not only did I admire the strength he had to remain sober but he was SO.DARN.SWEET! Even after a ten year separation, it was totally obvious how much he loved Hallie. And Ian and little Jenny clearly adored each other from day one. I also had to applaud Hallie for finding the courage to take on being a single mom and returning to a place that represented such heartbreak. These three really made the perfect little family!
Overall, this is a slow burning, straight forward romance that proves there’s a thin line between love and hate. Told from dual POVs with a sweet end. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

Katy lives in the relative wilds of northern Fairfield County, Connecticut, where her writing room looks out at the woods, and her husband, two young children, two dogs, and one Blue Tonkinese kitten create just enough cheerful chaos to remind her that the very best love stories begin at home.
