Smiling Irish (The Summerhaven Trio Book 2)
by Katy Regnery
From the New York Times bestselling author of The Blueberry Lane series comes a new trio of romances featuring the Haven triplets!
Tierney Haven and Burr O’Leary come from completely different worlds…
…but there’s a reason they say “opposites attract.”
Bookish Tierney Haven has always preferred places to people, and she especially loves the peace and quiet of Moonstone Manor, an estate museum located in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, where she is head docent, chief historian and live-in caretaker. The very last thing she expects to find on the doorstep at midnight is bruised and bloodied stranger, Burr O’Leary, in desperate need of her help.
Against her better judgement and at the risk of her brothers’ wrath, Tierney offers Burr sanctuary at Moonstone Manor, and nurses him back to health, surprised to discover that the dashing, enigmatic stranger loves the history and peace of Moonstone as much as she. But Burr has a dark history, and those who hurt him will stop at nothing to eliminate him…placing Tierney in grave danger until he is well enough to find them first.
~THE SUMMERHAVEN TRIO~
Book #1: Fighting Irish (Rory and Brittany)
Book #2: Smiling Irish (Tierney and Burr)
Book #3: Loving Irish (Ian and Hallie)
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
SMILING IRISH is a contemporary standalone and book two in The Summerhaven Trio series.
Tierney (I LOVE her name!) is the only girl in a set of triplets and is a bit of a recluse. She’s awoken in the middle of the night by Burr O’Leary, an undercover cop who’s been shot and desperately in need of shelter and some TLC!
The beginning of this crazy sweet story started off super fast for me. It’s filled with tension and the thrill of the unknown between Burr and Tierney. But after that initial coaster ride, their story kind of slowed down. Not that it wasn’t GOOD, it was, it just didn’t have that little ZING that the beginning had!
That being said, I’ll confess that I loved the Irish-ness of the story. I totally gave Google translate a hell of a workout because I SO wanted to hear that brogue accent in my head! At the expense of sounding trite…Burr and Tierney were just so darn CUTE together! These two seemingly opposite personalities were actually pretty like minded. They were one of those couples that made me SWOON (awww…) with their nutty banter and instant connection!
I’m looking forward to Ian’s story next, the last of the Haven triplets and probably the most anticipated one for me! Told from dual POVs with a happy ever after. I received, read and voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Katy Regnery started her writing career by enrolling in a short story class in January 2012. One year later, she signed her first contract and Katy’s first novel was published in September 2013.
Now exclusively self-published, Katy claims authorship of the multi-titled Blueberry Lane Series, which follows the English, Winslow, Rousseau, Story, and Ambler families of Philadelphia; the six-book, bestselling ~a modern fairytale~ series; the Enchanted Places Series; and a stand-alone novella, Frosted.
Katy’s first modern fairytale romance, The Vixen and the Vet, was nominated for a RITA® in 2015 and won the 2015 Kindle Book Award for romance. Katy’s boxed set, The English Brothers Boxed Set, Books #1–4, hit the USA Today bestseller list in 2015, and her Christmas story, Marrying Mr. English, appeared on the list a week later. In May 2016, Katy’s boxed set, The Winslow Brothers Boxed Set, Books #1-4, became a New York Times bestseller.
Katy lives in the relative wilds of northern Fairfield County, Connecticut, where her writing room looks out at the woods, and her husband, two young children, two dogs, and one Blue Tonkinese kitten create just enough cheerful chaos to remind her that the very best love stories begin at home.
