ChallengeSUMMERLogo

This is my first attempt at the COYER Challenge (Clean Out Your E-Reader) that Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews just introduced me to! Basically, the challenge is to read and review as many books as possible from my TBR. There’s two ways to do this. First, the NO RULES, READ ALL YOU CAN challenge. Second, a SUMMER READING LIST challenge of thirty books. Click on the link to take you to the official sign-up post over at the COYER web-site where a complete list of rules and links can be found.

I’ll be doing the NO RULES, READ ALL YOU CAN challenge and I’ll post my progress throughout the summer. This should be FUN!😁

Thanks to this year’s hostesses: Michelle @ Because Reading is Better than Real Life, Stormi @ Books, Movies, Reviews! Oh My! and Berls @ Fantasy is More Fun.

Here’s book two from my list of twenty books from my summer TBR!

Allure (Leathers, #1)Allure by Lacey Weatherford

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a book that I read several years ago by new to me author, Lacey Weatherford. I remember really enjoying this one (in fact I pinned it on my READ AGAIN E-SHELF) but I couldn’t quite remember WHY I liked it so I put it back on my TBR. Well, I reread it and NOW I know why I wanted to revisit this book. I won’t give any spoilers away but OH MY GAWD! Ms. Weatherford delighted me with probably the most sensual sex scene I’ve read that doesn’t actually involve sex!! There’s a few twists in the storyline that add a bit of angst but the first half was better than the second half just because of that scene! Brook and Six have crazy hot chemistry. She’s five years younger than him, only seventeen to his twenty-two (that’s not a problem for me although that may bother some). Six may have been a tatted, tempting “bad boy” but he was super sweet and charming. Brook was a sweetheart also although a little too naive for my tastes and sometimes her character seemed plastic or fake. This is a YA/NA story with a few violent scenes that might be a trigger for some. Told from dual POVs with a happy ending.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

22419474

Seventeen-year-old Brooklyn Hall has had her eye on uber sexy tattoo artist, Six Jagger, for a while. There’s only one problem—she’s pretty sure he doesn’t even know she exists. A friend of her older brother, Six is five years older than her. Plus, there’s the pesky fact that he’s had a steady girlfriend for months. Still, even though she knows there’s no chance for her, she can’t seem to let the fantasy go.

Six Jagger has had a thing for Brooklyn Hall since the first time he laid eyes on her a year ago. However, after finding out her age, he wiped her off his list of possibilities. That should’ve been the end of it, but for some reason, he can’t stop watching and admiring her from afar. Happy that he’s successfully maintained his distance, all that changes on the night Brooklyn walks into Inked Edges, asking him for an illegal tattoo. After that, all his carefully constructed barriers come tumbling down, taking them on an explosive ride of lust, passion, and desire.

All’s well that ends well, right? Too bad that wasn’t the end, but merely the beginning

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

3297510      Lacey Weatherford was born in Ft. Meade Maryland while her father was serving in the military. She has been a life long resident of Arizona, spending most of her time growing up in the small rural town of Clay Springs.

It was while she was attending the small country school in Clay Springs, that she read her first “big” book at the age of eight. It was a Nancy Drew novel and Lacey was instantly hooked. She read every book that she could find in the series and decided that she wanted to write stories too.

Lacey spent a lot of time at the library from that time forward, even volunteering in her later teen years and early twenties. She would don a crazy clown outfit for the Friends of the Library fundraisers in an effort to help get the new town library built.

When she and her husband moved away from the area, Lacey took the opportunity to take some creative writing classes at the local college to help further along her interests. Several years later, they were blessed with the opportunity to move back to Clay Springs with their family. The town had finally succeeded in building their library and Lacey had the opportunity to be President of the Friends of the Library for a very short time, before relocating.

Lacey and her family still live in the White Mountains of Arizona, where she continues to write young adult novels that have a fantasy/fairytale or paranormal bent to them, as well as being sure to include a great romantic storyline!
