My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I’ve been a fan of Nicole Edwards ever since I read “Conviction” about four years ago. I have several favorite characters from her long list of books but I must say, Seg and Roan are right up there on my list! This book has soooo much great things going on. Other than being a sweet and sexy romance, it addresses issues that are relevant in today’s crazy world and gives the reader a fresh perspective on some really important matters. All of the characters in the Pier 70 series face some tough obstacles but Seg and Roan’s story touched my heart and brought out all kinds of emotions. I laughed and I cried. I was outraged and delighted. I was proud and humbled by this heartwarming yet provocative and erotic story. Definitely a book for my READ AGAIN E-SHELF (actually the whole series)! Told from dual POVs with a terrific end. I received, read and voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Roan Gregory, one of the four owners of Pier 70 Marina, has managed to paint himself as a loner in recent months. There’s a reason for that. And he’s got every intention of keeping that reason a secret. That is, until he no longer has the option.
Colton Seguine, defenseman for the Austin Arrows, has gotten good at keeping the world from finding out that he’s gay. He knows exactly what he can and cannot do. And with whom. That is, until he sees Roan for the first time and all bets are off. Some secrets are too big to keep.
Temperatures soar when this brooding bad boy gets his first taste of this smoking hot hockey player.
Can Roan and Seg push past each other’s defenses? Or — thanks to the way the cards have been dealt — will the time they spent together prove to be just a harmless one night stand?
